Study Apps:

  • Quizlet: Quizlet is a mobile & web-based study app where you can search millions of study sets or create your own. Improve your grades by studying with flashcards, games and more.

  • Firecracker: Firecracker DO is a mobile & web-based study app. It is a more than a flashcard app – Firecracker can help with spaced repetition, memorization, practice problems and studying for board exams. It offers high-yield topics, Flashcards and COMLEX practice problems.
  • Anki: Anki is a mobile & web-based Flashcard app that uses an algorithm to help with spaced repetition. It’s completely customizable by adding your own mark-ups, clips, images and videos. You can add as you go and you will never run out of space.
  • Flashcards by NKO: is a mobile flashcard app where you can create and format your own deck or download millions of flashcards on hundreds of subjects created by both experts and novices. You can draw on the cards, play games, organize, keep track of progress and more.
  • Osmosis: Osmosis is a mobile & web-based app for medical students (by medical students) where you can work directly on a powerpoint/lecture, work on practice questions, make flashcards on the go and more. Osmosis offers many resources, so you can learn more and forget less!

  • Be Focused: Similar to the Pomodoro Technique, Be Focused is a timer app to help you stay on track. Create tasks, configure breaks and track your progress throughout the day, week or custom period.

  • ClearFocus: this app allows you to concentrate and boost your productivity without distractions. In addition to a timer, this app will disable you from all social media, including text and phone calls.

Note Taking Apps:

  • Notability: Combine handwriting, photos and typing in a single note to bring your projects/notes to life. Use a wide range of note-taking and sketching tools to capture every detail. You can even add and annotate lecture slides and PDFs. And, you can record lectures.

  • Evernote: Evernote is an app designed for note taking, organizing, and archiving. The app allows users to create a “note” which can be a piece of formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten “ink” note. Notes can also have file attachments.
    • Compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and web apps
    • Cost: FREE – Space is Limited (Paid version available)
  • GoodNotes: GoodNotes lets you take beautiful handwritten notes and annotate PDF documents. The handwritten notes are searchable and are created using a pioneering vector ink engine. Thanks to iCloud sync, your documents in GoodNotes will synchronize between your iPad and iPhone automatically.
